History
Andrew Porter Ltd was established in 1973 as a removals and storage firm, originally operating with one van, based in a portable building behind the Wrightington home of founder Andrew Porter.
The business grew quickly, to become one of the largest and most well known in the North West, more recently developing specialist divisions for European and commercial moves.
In 1995 Andrew Porter Ltd established its furniture logistics arm, which prompted a move into new, purpose-built accommodation in Adlington. The company is headquartered in the largest purpose-built storage warehouse in North West England, with 300,000 square feet of general warehousing and 35,000 square feet of high bay pallet storage space as well as the latest equipment and IT systems. Our high-spec facilities ensure first class service for our customers, which include some of the largest and most well respected manufacturers and importers in the UK.
Managing director Tim Aspey took the helm in 2006, overseeing a fleet of 45 vehicles and has a staff of more than 80 people. Although Andrew has stepped down from day-to-day running of the company, he still retains an active interest as chairman.
