Our Kendal base is rapidly expanding to meet the huge demand for storage space and we are excited to announce our fourth expansion and a fifth one pending.
The UK is currently struggling to cope with a shortage of storage space, commercial and domestic, and we were experiencing the highest number of enquiries we have ever seen for our Kendal site and even had a waiting list in place from customers looking for available space.
As a result, our team proactively took this as an opportunity for growth and, we're excited to announce we've expanded our self store Kendal site.
We've invested in a new facility at Dockray Hall, which has 57 indoor units ranging from 15sqft to 150sqft. The storage site has been fully refurbished and will have airflow and temperature control as well as individual pin code access so customers can gain access to their units 7 days a week.
There will also be a state-of-the-art security system in place, including round the clock CCTV monitoring and a sophisticated intruder alarm system. The addition of the facility at Dockray Hall will take our total number of self-storage units in Kendal to 195.
Andrew Porter Ltd is also hoping to offer even more 20ft outdoor storage units ideal for those who have larger items to store and need to be able to drive up to the unit.
The Kendal high-security facility is in a convenient location near the M6 motorway.
Manager Stephen Gregson, who is overseeing the expansion plans, said:
“We have been receiving lots of enquiries from both businesses and individuals, all looking for safe and secure storage space in the town. All our existing units in Kendal were full and we had a waiting list of 30 customers waiting for space to become available.
“We are pleased to be in a position where we can expand, offering both container storage and more self-storage units to those who need them. Our new facility at Dockray Hall has been fitted out to an extremely high standard and we are really excited about welcoming our first customers.”
