Free entrepreneurial advice

Andrew Porter Limited and Bizspace are hosting a second Global Entrepreneurship Week session in Altrincham, to complement their popular London event.

The event at Bizspace's Atlantic Business Centre, Atlantic Street, Altrincham, is aimed at anyone who has launched a new company or who is thinking of doing so.

On Friday 16th November from 12.30pm to 2pm, visitors are invited to ask questions of a local entrepreneur who gave up his job of 11 years and invested his life savings to follow his dream.

There will be advice from national flexible business provider Bizspace on what to bear in mind when finding your first business premises and the different types of workspace which are available.  Business relocation specialists Andrew Porter Limited will be advising on moving into and fitting out a new workplace.

The two firms' involvement in Global Entrepreneurship Week builds on their commitment to help start-up business thrive and their generous discounts for new businesses.

Sales and marketing director for Bizspace, Emma Long, commented: "We have had a great response to our Global Entrepreneurship Week event in London and decided to hold another in the North to allow more people to get involved.  The week is designed to inspire entrepreneurial vision and that's exactly what we hope to achieve with this event, where visitors will have the chance to ask any burning questions of someone who has risked it all to start his own business."

Local entrepreneur John Wonnacott opened art studio Local Creation this year, after winning Drive 2 Thrive - a contest to find the best entrepreneurial idea to transform Altrincham town centre.  Judges realised his idea to breathe new life into a former Salvation Army building was a winner, and it is now home to 12 studio spaces for the region's artists to work, run classes or sell their goods.

"To anyone thinking of starting their own business I'd say do it, as long as it's something you're passionate about and it isn't completely off the wall," John said.

"Don't think it's going to be an easy ride, and be ready for some things to go wrong - they will - so build in flexibility.  My experience has been exciting, scary, hard work and well worth it."

Entry to the event is free, but places are limited so please register in advance to confirm attendance.  To book visit bizspacealtrincham.eventbrite.co.uk.
