We are very proud to announce we have been shortlisted for not one, but two categories in this year's Red Rose Awards, namely ‘Innovation of the Year’ and the ‘International Achievement Award’.
The Red Rose Awards have been a highlight in the business calendar since their launch in 2011. The event celebrates Lancashire business, commerce and industry.
Andrew Porter Limited provides home removals, storage, logistics and laboratory relocations throughout the UK and internationally but the heart of our operation is based in Adlington, Chorley, in Lancashire.
Our European sales director John Best shares his thoughts on the Red Rose Awards experience.
"The shortlisting process was even more rigorous this year as the awards judging panel, made up of independent business experts and sponsors, had to whittle candidates down to just six finalists as opposed to a wider selection in previous years," John says.
"We were invited to the appropriately named ‘Red Rose Suite’ at Northcote at the Rovers for the final stage of judging.
"We gave a presentation for each category followed by 10 minutes of questions from the judges and we enjoyed the opportunity to talk about the work we’ve done in regarding innovation and on an international platform.
"As always, it’s been great to showcase the work of the Andrew Porter team to a wider audience. Now, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for the countdown to the big event in Blackpool!"
Last year, Andrew Porter Limited won the Growing Business Award 2014.
John remembers: "It was a fantastic surprise! We knew all the entrants would be worthy contenders so it was a great honour to be chosen as the winner in the Growing Business category.
"It’s always nice to have hard work recognised and this was something that all our staff could be proud of. The certificate and trophy are on display in our head office reception to remind everyone of our success."
Of course, it’s fantastic to be an award-winner, but taking part and being involved can be just as beneficial.
John comments: "Our business has definitely benefitted in the last four years that we have entered the awards.
"We have had a lot of publicity from our win last year and it has helped us demonstrate our achievements to both existing and potential clients. Also, we have developed some fantastic business partnerships through the awards, including with fellow winners, Connect 2 Cleanrooms.
"The awards dinner itself, and the winners’ reception which follows, are superb opportunities to network with the cream of the Lancashire business world and meet valuable new contacts."
For the fifth anniversary of the Red Rose Awards, more than a thousand people are expected to gather at Winter Gardens, Blackpool on Thursday 12 March 2015.
John adds: "We are really looking forward to the final event, which is always a night to remember.
"We are all hoping to be named as a winner for the second year running!"
