Moving day itself can often be a source of stress and worry, because of the number of elements which can cause delays, which then can have repercussions further down the line.
Completion delays are a home buyer’s biggest nightmare, and they can occur for all sorts of reasons. Most commonly it’s down to a problem with funds somewhere along the chain. The longer the chain of buyers and sellers, unfortunately the more likely there is to be an issue.
Frustratingly, the problems can often be out of anyone’s control, and a delay in the banking system can mean no keys can be exchanged on the agreed date. Shortfalls can also stop a deal from completing. A buyer may have miscalculated available funds, or forgotten to account for stamp duty when totalling the amount to transfer.
Disputes over the state of a property, or if it fixtures and fittings differ to what was agreed, can also prevent completion.
Delays in completion can mean a lot of waiting around, a lot of effort trying to put things right, and potentially a lot of extra cost.
The good news is that, should a delay occur, there is one sure fire way to remove a lot of the associated aggravation, and that is by ensuring both, or all, parties, use the same removal company.
We’ll keep all crews fully informed of any changes to the schedule or potential delays, to avoid any waiting around or unnecessary trips as much as possible.

This is especially important if you are moving at a peak time, such as the summer, a bank holiday or school holiday. The last thing you need is to have a moving date booked, only to find out weeks later that the other party cannot get a removal crew on the same day.
