Andrew Porter euro charity tourA daring pair from Adlington-based removals, storage and logistics firm, Andrew Porter Ltd has raised more than £10,000 for charity in a 'Cannonball Run' across Europe.

Company founder Andrew Porter and managing director Tim Aspey completed an 800-mile drive through six European countries in various fancy dress outfits, including priest costumes in a nod to the to Rat Pack stars Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Junior in the comedy movie Cannonball Run.

The five-day event was organised by one of Andrew Porter Ltd's principle furniture logistics customers, Morris Furniture Group.

Managing director, Tim Aspey said: "The Cannonball Run was a fantastic experience.  It was great to experience so many different countries and even better to have raised such an impressive total for BuildAid.  Altogether the event this year has brought in more than £130,000 for the charity and we are very proud to have been a part of that."

Founded in 2005 following the 2004 South East Asia tsunami, BuildAid is a UK registered charity which has evolved into funding rebuilding projects worldwide by providing construction aid, pro-bono professional advice and construction management of projects undertaken by community groups, non-profit making organisations and government departments.

The Andrew Porter Ltd team wishes to thank all their sponsors for helping them to raise the fantastic sum for BuildAid.  To donate to the Andrew Porter team log onto www.bmycharity.com/andrewporterltd.
