Kendal self store centre supports charity for bereaved parents

Our self storage centre at Kendal has given a donation to a local charity which supports bereaved parents.

Staff at Andrew Porter Ltd had been planning to complete the Coniston to Barrow charity walk – a 21-mile hike through the Lake District – in September to raise money for Tigerlily Trust. But the event was postponed until May 2021 due to the COVID 19 pandemic.

However, the self store centre wanted to still support the charity so made a £250 donation, which will go towards helping parents who have lost a child. The team members also plan to tackle the sponsored walk when it does take place next year.

Stephen Gregson, manager at Self Store Kendal, said they chose to support Tigerlily Trust after meeting its founder, Val Isherwood, when she came to rent storage for the charity more than 18 months ago.

He said: “I have chatted with her about what they do on numerous occasions and know that every penny really does count.”

Forging strong links with local organisations and giving back to the community is an important part of Andrew Porter Ltd’s work. As an independent family-run business, we pride ourselves on supporting good causes which do valuable work in the areas we operate in.
